Older Children

I like that older children do not suffer fools gladly. You need to engage with their interests and find a mutual respect otherwise you are left with forced grins which is no good for anyone! Once the trust is there it is magical. I love the chats and the opinions and the observations. Children are amazing. I keep the shoots well paced to keep them from becoming bored or self conscious. They usually have great fun (I know I do!)

All children need patience and respect so, for me, photographing children with Special Needs is no different. My heart has been stolen by many little boys and girls with issues that ranged from Autism to brain injuries. it is always an honour to meet them and their loving families and so rewarding to hear from moms and dads that I have captured their personalities.
